YOU WILL LEARN

1

The most important place to begin

(and how nothing else you do will work if you don't start here!)

Often times we rush into assessing and finding out where our ELLs are at and we miss out on the most important, must have step in their English language journey. Find out how to make this the first thing you do when working with ELLs and see how it will impact the rest of their educational journey.

2

The POWER behind using

authentic assessments.

Assessing is powerful, but only if we actually use the data we observe, and use engaging assessments that give us quality results. Learn some simple ways to use assessments to change the way you support your ELLs.

3

The secret sauce that brings it all together.

Would you believe that with the right toolbox you can in minutes provide the right support and differentiation your ELLs need? Well it's true, and I'll walk you through how to fill your toolbox during this masterclass.

4

Learn how you will save time and build confidence with this simple framework.

English Language Learners bring a whole new element into our classroom, and if you do not have a foundation and framework to start with, teaching ELLs will be extremely overwhelming. When you do have a clear path to follow, teaching ELLs is an incredible opportunity and experience. You can decide which you'd rather choose!

Do you feel confident that you are giving your ELL students the support they need?

If you answered no, I want you to hear this... IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT!

When we take a quick look at the numbers, we are seeing that in the United States, ELLs are now 1 in 10 students across the country, and 1 in 4 in metropolitan areas. Compare that to the number of teachers certified to teach ELLs which is less than 1%, we see a huge burden being placed on the 1% that is certified, and the 99% that isn't!

So even if you aren't certified to teach ELLs, you still have ELLs in your classroom that need a much different style of teaching than native English speakers. This situation is prime for stressed out, overwhelmed, and burdened teachers! Teachers who want to do what's best for their students, but just really aren't sure where to begin or where to go.

If this sounds like your day to day, then join me on simplifying the process through an easy 3 step framework that will help you see meeting the needs of ELLs through a whole different mindset.

A Note From The Instructor...

I have not always been an advocate for English Language Learners, and for the first few years of my teaching, I actually did very little to differentiate and support these students. Instead I was overwhelmed, stressed, and under pressure to help my language learners get to grade level even though I really had no clue how to get there.

Fast forward 10 years, and those ELL students I had in my first few years have left on an unshakeable impression on me that they deserved better. As I began learning tools and strategies, and began seeing the potential each student had, I developed an unquenchable passion to help others see that same success in their classroom. It can be done, and all without adding more onto your plate.
